All Garden Coach services include:

  • An onsite visit to assess the property first-hand
  • A follow-up written report with specific recommendations

Consultation Visit

This walk-through of your property focuses on your specific questions and needs. Topics may include an overall evaluation of your landscape design, trees, shrubs and plant identification, pruning and dead-heading recommendations, bed lines and garden layout. We'll talk about "garden rooms" and how you can expand your living spaces outdoors. We'll look at sun and shade patterns and overall growing conditions in your property. Written recommendations are tailored to your site's unique features and needs.

Garden Coaching

Some clients are already experienced gardeners who just need an extra pair of eyes and a coach's experience and fresh perspective. Coach discusses any concerns that you might have and any changes that you would like to see in your garden. Coaching services can be a one-time event, or a package that includes a visit during each of the four seasons to help you keep your landscape beautiful all year.

Home Sellers Package

Coach will make recommendations to enhance the curb appeal of the property. Evaluation will include the overall health and beauty of the lawn and landscape. Recommendations may include lawn maintenance and pruning needs, refining bed lines and removing or adding plants for color and beauty.

Home Buyer Consultation

Coach helps the new home owner identify existing trees, shrubs and plants. She assesses the overall health of the landscape and makes recommendations for maintaining the landscape, including pruning and dead-heading, seasonal maintenance, fertilizing and winter protection needs.

Edible Gardens

Garden Coach has been growing her own vegetables and fruits for decades. She can help you get started with an edible garden of your own. Services include identifying the best location in your yard for an edible garden, how to prepare the garden bed, fertilizer and soil amendments, and recommending specific seed and plant varieties that thrive in the midwest.

Other Services

  • Shopping with you at local nurseries to choose the best plants for your garden.
  • Supervising planting of new trees, shrubs and perennials.
  • Referrals to landscape installers and other professionals who can help you install and maintain your garden.
