Virginia has been an avid gardener for over 30 years. She supplements hands-on experience with professional certification courses in landscape design at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.
Virginia's suburban yard features a shrub garden, a blue-and-orange flower garden, a mixed perennial garden, a woodland shade garden and an edible garden. Click on the Gallery page for photos.
Gardening organically, Virginia makes her own compost to feed hundreds of plants that flourish without added fertilizer or pesticides. Her edible garden includes salad greens, strawberries and raspberries, peas and beans, squash and cucumbers.
